Warrior Film Premiere

I always thought my first writing credit would be from signing a book deal, but nope (still working on that), it was from writing this important film. This was the very first screenplay I wrote and I’m honored and grateful that my very first screenplay was a fully funded one. As someone who has been writing books since he was fifteen years old, the thought of doing something else was terrifying, but I did it!

I would like to thank Shane Richards and Walter Rucker and everyone at Pridelines for gifting me with this opportunity to get this story out there.

I think it’s imperative for us as people to destigmatize std’s and HIV, and I hope that with this short we’re able to start those conversations.

Warrior is always going to hold a special place in my heart because it’s a story so relatable to my community. As cliche as it sounds, there were times when I cried writing it because of how close it hit to home.

As LGBTQ+ people we don’t always have our families support, but the beauty in that is that we’re able to form our own. I hope you all love Luis, Amon, and Nina as much as I do.
